High Desert Ford is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to help build and support a high-performing dealership culture. This is an opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who enjoys working with people, solving problems, maintaining compliance, and helping a fast-paced organization grow.

The Human Resources Manager will partner directly with the General Manager and leadership team to oversee all aspects of human resources, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, payroll support, training coordination, and performance management.

Reporting Structure

·       Reports directly to the General Manager and works closely with department managers and dealership ownership.

Job Requirements:

Responsibilities

·       Lead all dealership recruiting efforts from job postings through onboarding.

·       Coordinate new hire paperwork, orientation, and employee onboarding.

·       Maintain employee personnel files and HR records with accuracy and confidentiality.

·       Ensure compliance with California labor laws, federal employment regulations, and company policies.

·       Manage employee relations by addressing questions, concerns, coaching, and workplace issues professionally.

·       Coordinate leave administration, workers' compensation claims, unemployment claims, and accommodations.

·       Administer employee benefits, enrollments, and annual open enrollment.

·       Assist with payroll processing and ensure employee information is accurate.

·       Maintain employee handbook, policies, and HR procedures.

·       Coordinate performance reviews, disciplinary documentation, and employee development initiatives.

·       Partner with department managers on staffing plans and organizational needs.

·       Track and monitor required training and compliance certifications.

·       Support employee engagement, recognition programs, and dealership culture initiatives.

·       Prepare HR reports and maintain accurate employment records.

·       Work closely with ownership and management on confidential personnel matters.

·       Promote a positive, professional, and accountable workplace culture.

Qualifications

·       Minimum 3–5 years of Human Resources experience.

·       Automotive dealership experience strongly preferred.

·       Strong knowledge of California employment law.

·       Experience with recruiting and talent acquisition.

·       Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.

·       High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

·       Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

·       Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems.

·       Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.

·       PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification is preferred.
