Position Overview

As an Automotive Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for selling vehicles by understanding and demonstrating their features and capabilities, qualifying buyers, and closing sales effectively. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet customers on the sales floor and identify their vehicle preferences.
  • Explain vehicle features and demonstrate operation in the showroom or on the road.
  • Recommend optional equipment and accessories to customers.
  • Research availability of specific models and equipment options.
  • Consult with Sales Manager when needed to ensure customer satisfaction and proper transaction procedures.
  • Assist with pricing, including tax, trade-in allowances, license fees, discounts, and financing options.
  • Prepare and complete all required paperwork, including sales slips and credit applications.
  • Deliver new vehicles to customers while ensuring they understand features, warranties, and documentation.
  • Maintain a system for developing potential customers.
  • Stay informed about new products, features, and accessories.
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets and forecasts.

Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions while performing duties.
  • Frequent standing, talking, walking, hearing, and sitting.
  • Potential exposure to exhaust fumes or airborne particles.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of up to 10 pounds.
  • Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.

Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business materials and technical procedures.
  • Strong communication skills for effective presentations and customer interactions.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage varied situations.
  • Ability to interpret instructions presented in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Spanish language skills preferred but not required.
