AUTOMOTIVE SALES ASSISTANT

THE POSITION: The Automotive Sales Assistant works in the dealerships showroom to provide assistance to Sales Consultants, Sales Managers, and directly assisting customers.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) are required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs.
  • Describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of merchandise to customers.
  • Update customer records in dealerships applications as required.
  • Contact customers to answer basic procedural questions.
  • Coordinate test drives and trade vehicle appraisals.
  • Pull vehicle invoices.
  • Run rebate summaries on vehicles.
  • Work with the finance department to obtain the necessary customer information for credit approvals.
  • Work with the service department to ensure accessory installations.
  • Schedule appointments & deliveries.
  • Reconcile monthly volume of sales.
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
