Position Overview

The Automotive Body Shop Painter is responsible for refinishing damaged vehicles to restore them to their pre-accident condition by accurately and efficiently following repair orders. This role supports the dealership's commitment to speed, quality, and customer satisfaction in every repair.

Key Responsibilities

  • Refinish damaged vehicle body parts according to factory and dealership quality standards within specified timeframes.
  • Operate body shop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Remove rust, grease, and dirt from metal surfaces before refinishing.
  • Prepare surfaces for paint using manual and power sanding tools.
  • Mix paint to match manufacturer color specifications precisely.
  • Apply paint using sprayers or brushes as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tools and equipment and ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Wear appropriate safety and protective gear during all tasks.
  • Comply with all laws and regulations related to paint materials and hazardous substances.
  • Collaborate with team members to assist in vehicle repair and preparation as needed.

  • Previous experience as a painter in a dealership or collision/body shop setting.
  • Experience with waterborne paint systems.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and technical information.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and color matching ability.
  • Self-motivated and dependable with a strong work ethic.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.
